Description

Hi All,

Need help to upgrade the foreman to the latest version.

Please share the steps and the version that needs to be used for a smooth upgrade

Current Config:

OS version: RHEL 7.5 will be updating to RHEL 7.9
Foreman: 1.19.1
Katello: katello-3.8.1-1.el7.noarch
Puppet: puppetdb-4.4.0-1.el7.noarch

Let me know if any more details is required.

Hi Ranjit,

You will have to upgrade Katello, upgrading each version incrementally.

So if you are on Katello 3.8 now, you can upgrade to 3.9 https://theforeman.org/plugins/katello/3.9/upgrade/index.html

And then upgrade to each version until you reach the one you want.

Thanks John,

I would also require help on below

1) Do we have to update the foreman version along with katello say i am moving to katello 3.9 then I also need to move foreman to 1.20?

2) Can you share the katello and foreman version compatibility list.

3) I also have 2 proxy servers, do we need to upgrade them to the master server versions.

Meanwhile, I will also explore the community forum.
